15 Books that Stick WIth You.

Recently, I was tagged in a note on Facebook where I was to name 15 books that stuck with me. I thought I would expound on this and explain their adhesive nature. I seldom read a novel or book more than once, but these are a few that I have, or plan to.

1. October Sky - This was a great movie that prompted me to pick up the book. The book blew the movie out of the water. The writing style made me feel like I was standing Coalwood watching the events take place. Definitely one I will read again.
2. The Outsiders - A middle school reading assignment that I actually enjoyed reading and could not put down. The movie follows the book VERY closely.
3. The Bible - Takes me back to another time in my life when I believed everything in it. Today, the memories of such are laughable and show me how far I've come.
4. Frankenstein - Just a good read that I enjoy time and time again. The movie is okay.
5. The Invisible Man - Another entertaining read that I have enjoyed more than once.
6. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - A fun read.
7. To Kill A Mockingbird - This was a book I read in high school that showed me how history can truly be intertwined with literature. A very good book while also very deep.
8. Up From Slavery - The powerful and uplifting autobiography of Booker T. Washington. You will find yourself ready to conquer the world when you finish reading it!
9. Citizen Soldier - A great book about the common citizens of the US that trained and served to defeat evil in WWII. It shows what a great generation my grandparents were a part of.
10. Colder Than Hell - A telling memoir of The Korean Conflict, a largely forgotten part of American history that does not deserve to be.
11. Native Son - A great and chilling story.
12. Otherwise Known as Sheila The Great- This Judy Blume classic as the first ever "thick book" I ever read. I was probably in the first or second grade and the cover caught my eye. It was the first novel, or novella, I ever read. It launched a lifetime love of reading. At the time I thought I'd read the likes of "War and Peace" or "Crime and Punishment" as I finished this book with over 100 pages.
13.Bear Island - This book introduced me to the greatness that is Alistair MacLean. I have read many of this novels. Even though they are a tad dated now, they are still a good read. However, the more I read, the more I notice a "formula" the author seemed to follow that I imagine can get tiresome to the reader over time.
14.How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way- As soon as I could pick up a pencil and paper I have enjoyed drawing. I wish this book had come into my life years earlier! It tought me a great deal about drawing.
15.Making Movies - A movie with lots of interesting information about film making and some great directing tips too.
