Kornfield County Revisited

Last night, my friend Kerry and I watched the other Hee Haw DVD. These episodes were from a later season when Hee-Haw was in its prime. This meant the jokes were that much cornier and the skits that much hokier. Some skits seemed to be near carbon copies of those on the pilot episode from 3 or 4 years before. The music however was better than ever. The standouts in one episode were Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn and in the other Tanya Tucker. This will be all the Hee-Haw I see for a while. The library had only these two DVDs and there are many, many other movies and shows I'd rather see before I start adding Hee-Haw DVDs to my queue. Perhaps I was too harsh in my previous blog in my critique of the countrified Laugh-In. The show has some merits, but not enough to draw me in like so many other aspects of classic country have.
