Summer Nights
There is something special about summer nights. During the summer months, when darkness falls, it as if the day continues without the light of the sun. Summer nights filled with the sounds of crickets chirping, the glow of fireflies against the night sky and warm temperatures allow the activities of the day to continue and perhaps thrive even more so as the sun hides itself offering some respite from the day's heat. After dark, how often have you heard the sound of children playing hide and seek aided by the darkness, seen families and friends relaxing on the porch taking in the sights and sounds of a summer night or allowed yourself to take a stroll on a summer night and experience your daylight world in an altered state? With night comes an altered reality that allows the mind to wonder and dwell on the things of the day now hidden, but in some ways that much more revealed. Summer nights are something special and so often overlooked and under appreciated.
